Mount Vernon Genealogical Society meets the third Tuesday of each month at 1 PM in Room 112 at Hollin Hall Senior Center, 1500 Shenandoah Road, Alexandria, Virginia.  See map.  Visitors are always welcome to attend these monthly meetings.  Our dues for 12 months are $20 per individual and $25 for a family.

A majority of our meetings are video-taped and available to members by checking out the DVD from our Research Center or viewing the program on the Members section of the Society's website.  Handouts for programs are also on the website.

Our MVGS Library has an extensive collection of genealogical reference books, periodicals and CDs. Along the Center's far wall, seven computers provide access to Ancestry.com, Fold3, Genealogy Bank, American Ancestors, Newspapers and Archives, along with access to free sites like FamilySearch, Rootsweb, Find A Grave, USGenWeb and of course our own website.  Researchers can download information to their own USB flash drives and we also have several printers.  A conference/reading table is in the center of the room.

The MVGS Research Center is open from Tuesday through Thursday, every month from 10 AM until 2 PM.  There are a few exceptions of course.  On the first Wednesday of each month it is closed early at 1PM and also closed at noon on the third Tuesday for our monthly MVGS meeting down stairs.  It is also open on the 3rd and 4th Mondays from 10AM to 2PM.  Our facility will also be closed several days around federal holidays, Christmas and New Year's day.
